William Butler Yeats: How many interpretations... (1 Viewer)

How many interpretations of each poem is one required to know when studying William Butler Yeats poetry? For example I've heard that we're required to have our own interpretation as well as know and be able to explain at least 2 other readings for each poem. In my opinion this sounds reasonable, if not a bit much though as I said I'm unsure about this.
Anybody have the facts?

thanks to the failings of our teacher i am not actually sure, i have heard it said as 2 critical analysis whether these be differing interpretations or 2 that support each other i'm sure either is fine, as for you own it's easier just to use parts from everyone else's

sorry i can't be of more help i don't really know what i'm doing either and my exam is tomorrow..
