So now that we've all finished 4unit maths, what are your thoughts?

Will you do a maths major at university? If so, what type? Pure, applied, statistics or a mix? Or maybe you won't be doing maths at uni, but still plan to study some more advanced maths after school?

I'll be doing a maths minor at UNSW (if I can somehow manage to fit it in, I'll do a major instead). I'll focus mainly on pure.

Yeh, I'd like to keep going with Math. It's only beggining to get interesting in 4u.

I'm looking at doing engineering at UNSW. I'd like to also atleast do a minor in math (anything except stats :p)

See you there Slidey.

er no it isnt, you will do some of the 4u stuff again, namely integration and possibly volumes. You will be introduced to linear algebra, which you dont do in 4 unit

Go for it I say. I only did 3 unit, it didnt stop me from taking up advanced maths for my degree (not doing maths degree) this year at uni. I did ok in it so im switching unis next year to do a maths major. :) Any advantages 4 uniters have in first year uni maths is quickly taken away after the first one or two weeks

Most likely if I don't do Comm/Law, it'll be Comm/Science.

you can do maths though the adv science or just the normal Bsc course and even transfer to adv maths later is you want.
