for king lear all you need to know is the text and the productions. you might not even be asked to refer to a specific interpretation say marxism or feminism. but this critics of all these different ppl that some of you's are talkin bout u dont need that. its your critical study of the text. chaos and order for example u talk bout those themes arising from the text den if you want u can apply marxism for example to make it look better but u dont need quotes from critics! not important!

Quotes from critics aren't necessary but sometimes it'll make your essay look better. You can use a quote to add weight to a certain point you're making.

They research others perspectives of the text and test these against their own understanding and interpretations of the text.
make sure u don't miss that part

it is not absolutely necessary to have critics, however, there is that little line in the syllabus, and it does make your essays sound better, more researched, and it shows it's not somthing you just made up yourself
