Used to own Sony MZ 505.

Sold it to a friend.

MP3 is better, smaller and larger capacity.

So it looks like they have quite a following here:). Good to see:). I have a Sony MZ-R909 (silver):). I have no use for mp3's, so I do not have a NET MD either:).

I like the satisfaction of having a collection of CD's too. All you have to do is buy the CD and then copy it over to a blank MiniDisc:).

If they did, it would of happened already, not sure, rather hard to predict, but i do remember the first MD, was created by Sony in 1992, so you can see that's about 11 yrs and still some people don't know about it, or some don't appreciate it, i think it will stay status quo, and become the best form of compact Music Storage, but i highly doubt it will compensate for data storage.

I've never liked them myself either, they're too fiddley.
DVD-ROMs will be likely replacing CD-ROMs.

So no, Mini-Discs will not replace CD-ROMs, but they are an alternative to casette decks, CD-players and portable mp3 players (although this would be neck and neck, mp3 vs minidisc).

You wouldn't be jogging around with a DVD player anytime soon, but minidiscs and mp3 players are becoming more and more popular now that CDs have limited capacity and are limited physically to their dimensions. ;)

I think this might be the one I have... I love it. :) Four hours of music is so much better than (just over) one.
