I'm shocked that MQ only had one mention here - MQ Prac students have the best reputation amongst secondary schools, based on my research (conducted *before* I enrolled in their BA DipEd). That said, MQ also has excellent Ancient History and Psychology departments, so that also assisted me in choosing. In the end, an education degree is an education degree to the Department of Education - you're best to consider other factors such as travel time, ease of transport, etc in making your decision. But I agree, focus on the subject area you want to teach.

Why on earth you would do teaching at usyd, i don't know.
It's 5 years instead of 4 when combined (you have to do it combined), if you fail something you add an extra semester or have to do 5 subjects.
A few of my friends go there for teaching and say the lectures are very uninspired. Go to unsw/ACU/newcastle is actually really great for teaching, but it's a pretty shit place if you're from sydney.

edIT: also notre dame. Prac in first year for a whole term i think.

I have friends doing Secondary Teaching at Southern Cross and they really loved the fact that placements started in their first year, so it was hands on right from the beginning.
