Hey I am really interested in knowing wat CSU is like cause l am thinking of going there next year. I want to study communications - journlaism and have ehard CSu has teh best course. I currently live in Sydney so l dunno what its going to be like moving away from home and especially to a country town like bathurst...

If any one has anything they could tell me about CSU l would really appreciate it .. oh and also any hints about the entry process for journalism such as essays and interview

i didnt realise there was an interview for next years entry?? we just had to write 2 essays and its really not that hard- just check out the links that they give you and refer to them. Keep it really simple yet well written.

Apart from that, Bathurst is a really nice campus, not the most attractive in terms of buildings but it serves its purpose. As for coming from sydney, about half the people i live with (myself inclusive) are from sydney and we dont have a problem. . Its a huge town and it has everything you need there and it really isnt that far from sydney (only 2 and a half hours).

Its a really friendly campus too because there arent half as many students as metropolitan unis. All your lecturers and tutors know your name and a bit about you. Theyre all super nice. Its a really social campus too. We have a great bar that opens every tuesday arvo for trivia and every thursday night for either a themed or non themed night. Last night we had Oktoberfest, last week was Back to School and next week we have our ball for the year which is the Cinderella Ball, held from midnite till dawn. Next weekend is Village Fair Music Festival- CSU's answer to big day out. We have some really great bands come and play eg: Something for kate, the superjesus, 28 days, the living end, jebediah, the beautiful girls, groove terminal, sonicanimation and TZU.

Theres not a lot to do in the town itself. You can shop and stuff but that gets a bit boring.. otherwise you have some great roadtrips to various country towns for 21sts, picnic races and stuff like that.

So yeah. Give Bathurst a shot. If you want, book a campus tour during our uni term so you can get a feel for what the campus and living arrangements are like.

Good Luck!
