I was wondering what kind of raw mark in papers one and two I would need to get a low band 5

because I failed English last year:p. But seriously I know I can't get a band 6 and just need something to gauge myself against.

if you are just aiming for low band5
it means that you are not very good at english

in that case don't worry about what you have to get! just get the best mark you can possibly do

But anyway, calc, if you set yourself a limit like that you probably won't achieve what you're really capable of. Seriously, aim for a band 6. You might surprise yourself.

haha I cried yesterday because I got a low band five mark for my half yearly in english
but yeah low 80s would be a band 5. I agree with others though, aim higher, cause this subject kind of *has* to count

In 2001, you would have needed a total raw mark of roughly 69/105 (66%) for an aligned mark of 80 (Band 5).

This raw band cut-off may have varied in other years.
