What Kind of marks are you guys receiving from the MedEntry practice papers? (1 Viewer)

Hey guys, im an ex victim of the UMAT tests (meaning i've been through this a year ago) and i was browsing to see how this years HSC students are fairing when i came across this forum...well my first advice for everyone who are stuggling at the MEdentry prep exams are not to worry...you see thier tests are overly prepared and hard...Dont get me wrong, UMAT is hard in itself but last year when I utilised one of their practise exams...i merely scored a percentile of 32:mad1: ..though i kept my usual studying routine at line and in due time a score of 96 was acheived by me at the actual UMAT..Well...i wouldnt realise a pattern even if it hit me in the face but i think thier tests..are a bit crazy...so the point of my advice is....score a pass and your goals are a few milestones away...

God speed...i need freinds at UNSW Med course...fast...

Hahaha, thanks so much for that man. That made me feel so much better, i hope and pray that i'll be seeing you at UNSW.

Oh and by the way what did you mean by "a score of 96 was acheived by me at the actual UMAT", don't you need like at least 170 score, and a 230 percentile to get into med?

Yay I improved a bit,

Section I - 30/44 and 74 percentile
Section II - 29/36 and 90 percentile
Section III - 25/30 and 70 percentile.

I'm still need great improvement in Section I and Section II the most.

So how is everyone else doing?

Nup I went either just one time or undertime, especially for Section II. I can't be bothered to check again for Section II because I either end up second guessing my answers or choose the same one anyway.

I am getting marks around

Section 1 25-27/44 20-30 percentile

Section 2 22-25/36 30-38 percentile

Section 3 20-23 30-38 percentile

What on earth am i doing wrong? And is anyone else in the same boat.

Dude, my marks are nothing compared to all those are people I keep hearing about so I don't wanna give you bad advice.

Section II, I usually find that if I go with my gut feeling, it's correct and sometimes when I over think it then I get the wrong answer. Also, I reckon for Section I the wording of everything is of utmost importance. I got like 10 questions wrong just because I didn't read the question properly.

And I'm even shitter for Section II, I just scrapped a good percentile this time because of luck.

I reckon some of these 99 percentilers should dish out some advice...pretty please

You aren doing that much worse then they are. Me on the other hand, haven't even gotten a 50+ percentile how embarrasing.

Your section II seems to be really good.

My first two Section III scores were absolutely shocking.

Dude take it from me, those guys have either done MedEntry last year, and are just recalling on answers not skills. Also they may be going over time, you never know. Well thats the only 'logical' conclusion i have come up with.

Hopefully. All we can do now is practice, do the test and see how we compare to everyone else.

percentiles are pretty good for section 1 and 2 im just shit at section 3

Join the club ( I suck at Section III as well). However, your section I is way better than mine.

Lol im quite opposite to everyone here.. just did a EI test and realised im in the bottom 10% of people for EI, thus im failing section 2 -_-

my latest tests:

section 1: 31/44 (71 percentile)
section 2: 21/33 (bottom 20 percentile -________-")
section 3: 28/30 (99 percentile)

im willing to trade tips for some sections if anyone gives me tips for section 2 which im completely crap in ><
