i got 85+ for all my subs but 80 in adv eng. a few more marks could have boosted my atar by atleast 0.7-1.2 ..so in your case it could impact by at least 1-2 atar points (i think)

If you get 60 in standard English, you ATAR will fall by at least 10-15 marks

If you get 60 in standard English, it will drop you potential ATAR by 10-15 marks. You really cannot get a 85+ ATAR with a 60 in standard english

You do 4U maths work it out m8! But seriously if there is a big gap between your (good subjects) and english it could drag you down a alot. %20 is a pretty large chunk if you get low scores.

I really doubt you'd get only 60 after aligning in standard if you are otherwise capable of 90+ (let alone 99). But especially when looking at high ATARs a single subject can make a massive difference so you really need to work on English!

OP, check my raw marks.

http://community.boredofstudies.org/showthread.php?t=275277

I attained 74 HSC mark (76 school assessment, 71 exam) in English Standard. My ATAR was 86.9
Most of my other subjects were in the band 5 range.

Hopefully that eases your worries!

EDIT: My gut instinct tells me you won't be getting 60 aligned in English.... since that would imply you'd hardcore fail (much much lower than 49%) the hsc English standard exam and school assessments in terms of raw marks.... unless if you are actually failing english at school?

I'd think that if you do care about your ATAR, you'd somehow get much higher than 60 aligned hsc mark for english standard.
yeah, yeah, i exaggerated a 'little'. This is kinda reassuring, but there are mixed answers so idk
English just doesnt come to me, any tips on how to improve it?
