HSC results were great for me today, pretty much guaranteed the atar to do anything I am interested in.

I really want to get into game development, BUT I don't want to be limited to games only, since Australia has no real opportunities in the field. So is there something more general where you will just learn the languages and then you can do something in games? I have no idea.

I am also confused by the one million names they have for each of these courses.

I am loving the idea of UTS at the moment because it's closer than the other ones and I love it's location. Although I would be happy to go to the other universities if they offer something not to be found at UTS.

Is there a list the different courses that have to do with software/games/IT and what the differences are? Thanks. Just overwhelmed by it!

I think you should check out the Computer Science course at UNSW - http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/information/future-students/undergraduate/programs/computer-science/

They offer specialization streams where you can specialize in a certain field (including Game Development) and you also cover the full Computer Science course. I'd say this is a better option because unlike the UTS degree, the course at UNSW is versatile and although you might Major in Games Development you'll still know enough to get a job in other computer science related fields.
(Also when it comes to CSE, UNSW is pretty much the best you can get :)).

From their site:
"Program Flexibility

Computer Science is UNSW's most flexible Computing degree. All students study the core subjects and then have many electives to study several of the application areas, or they may choose to specialise in one of the Specialisations or Minors."
