Actually, if you get the first 2 sections pretty much all right, you're almost a certainty for distinction i think.

Maths comp say nothing about how well u actually go...u could guess the answers and get em right....my sis got participation from years 9 to 12 and she got 98 for 4 unit maths and 99 for 3unit maths in the HSC last year...
Just means she worked hard and had good exam technique.

I got an HD...

It does reflect your potential in maths, probably better than in school assessments because it measures lateral thinking as opposed to your ability to do tons of questions of a set type as seen in regular maths tests. While it doesn't count for anything, it is indicative.

my bro got money... grr damn him.

hmm yes, I think it does reflect your porblem solving skills more than the maths you do at "skOoL". Basically what Justin has said above. =)

Well I mean if you guess your answers then it's just a matter of luck, but I'm talking about this comp in general without people fluking.

HD's are top 2%...
I fail to see how somebody remotely good at maths would get a credit, I really do. [/politically incorrect observation]

hahahah actually.. i don't type like that..
it's too annoying to capitalise some letters and stuff
but it's easier if you abbreviate some words..
so much faster!
