The number one NBA overall draft pick in 2002 was Yao Ming from China, a young, giant 7'5", 296 pound center. He does it all, slam dunks, layups, distance shots, rebounds, and blocks. Yao plays against the international elite in international tournaments and shows similar success. Every year, he keeps getting bigger and better in all stages of basketball.
In his second season of the NBA, Yao has grown to 310 pounds and is listed as 7'6". In just 14 games of the 2003-2004 season so far, he has averaged 17.1 points and 9.9 rebounds, an improvement from the 13.5 points and 8.2 rebounds averaged across 82 games last season. Everything about him, skill, size, stamina, strength, keeps improving.
He was on the NBA All Star team last year, although he had little playing time. We endorse Yao Ming again for the NBA All Star team, and believe he deserves more playing time on the team as well.
