Hey im in yr11 doin music 1 and we got a 10 minute viva voce coming up. Ive been wondering how long would you recommend having your expcerpts? i have 3 exccerpts and they go for 23, 28 and 30 seconds, is that short enough?

Hmm - I don't know about that ... the length is right ... but I'm in Year 12 and I have 16 excerpts, not to include the three or four I actually play on the piano to prove/reinforce a point. My excerpts vary in length, from 7 seconds to 1:12. It depends what I'm trying to say, and how in depth my written response is ... But I suppose if you're happy with three, then that's ok with me! ^-^

I would recommend around 30 seconds. If they go for too long the teachers will think you are trying to eat up time.
