Verb after 'ja' or 'zB' ?? (1 Viewer)

Hallo,

I have my half yearly speaking exam TOMORROW, so replies to this post would be appreciated ASAP, danke!!

I am preparing for tomorrow by making up answers for the 2004 HSC oral exam.

Q1: Hast am Wochenender viel Freizeit?

If I answer with "Ja", is this the initial idea of my sentence which a verb must follow?

"Ja habe ich viel Freizeit, weil ich keinen Teilzeitarbeit habe."
oder..
"Ja ich habe viel....."

Same question regarding Q2: "Musst du am Wochenende im Haushalt helfen?"
"Gelegentlich muss ich im Haushalt helfen. Zum beispiel manchmal koche ich...[or] ich koche manchmal...[or] koche ich manchmal" ??

This is just what I, as a non-native nowhere near fluent speaker reckon:

Don't think of the 'ja' as being the start of the sentance (ie. the first idea), because it's not. The real sentence you're trying to say can be said as:

Ja, ich habe am Wochenende viel Freizeit.
Ja, am Wochenende habe ich viel Freizeit

Note the verb is ALWAYS the second idea here, because it's not a clause of anything.

"Musst du am Wochenende im Haushalt helfen?"
"Gelegentlich muss ich im Haushalt helfen. Zum beispiel manchmal koche ich...[or] ich koche manchmal...[or] koche ich manchmal" ??

Again, the verb has to be the second idea, but zB. doesn't count as the first idea in the sentance. So either would be right:

zB. ich koche manchmal
zB. manchmal koche ich

But not:

zB. koche ich manchmal
