I went too! I did have a nice time and it clarified details for me, but I'm still a little torn between UTS and USYD.

What course are u torn between at these two uni's

I went to both too but i think UTS won me over just a little bit more...

Liek one of the professors said at some lecture today "pick something u enjoy and you will do well"

Goodluck in your choice :) :)

BNursing at UTS or BScience/MNursing at USYD.

I think I might go to UTS too though. BScience is probably more for background knowledge. The UTS Faculty of Nursing look really passionate about what they do, and the ability to specialise in a certain area does sound good :)

That's good advice, you should choose something you will like. A lot of people are putting me down for choosing nursing. I think it's what I will enjoy though.

Thanks, I'm glad you're pretty sure.

Omg someone else wanting to do nursing yay! lol

Dw about everyone else, parts of family are like ergh why dont u something which will get you more money with ur UAI rather than nursing, at least my parents are supportive...

Yea i was a bit torn between doing the B. Health Sci/Mn at syd or UTS, but yea i really want to do the paediatric major at UTS :)

Maybe I'll see you there lol. Not many people I know are want to do nursing. I was also thinking of paediatrics because I like working with children. My sister's friend said it can be heartbreaking though.

My family is fine with nursing, except my mum. I know there will be hard work, but I'll prepare myself for that and it is rewarding too. Other people tell me that about my UAI too, but a uni lecturer said people who choose courses just for their high cut-offs tend to regret it because it's not what they actually enjoy.

I went to the advisory day. I also went to the Newcastle Ourimbah campus-- it seemed really half assed compared to UTS. Except, at UNCLE they had these really cool highlighters that drew in three colours and were shaped like triangles, which was really quite awesome. At UTS I got a pen from the purple faculty, which I took apart in curiousity to look at the mechanism, but when I tried to put it back together again, I couldn't. :(

The atmosphere at UTS was very friendly and helpful. I also went to the Maq pathways day with a friend for her commerce course and the students seemed very closed off, and not too impressed with the potential students coming in for the day. Also, the very ugly sculpture at UTS near Information was fascinatingly ugly. I'd still definately like to do nursing at UTS, but I am glad about getting the extra information about the course like extra fees, and getting a feel of the atmosphere around the university. I didn't catch the name of whom I talked to but I'm fairly certain she had a Canadian accent.

Who cares-- the person with the highest UAI accepted in the BN course gets their CSP student contribution paid for them by the faculty in their final year! :uhhuh:

I think they tell you first year, I don't know when during the year, but it doesn't become available until the third year.
