how hard is it to get distinction averages for first year?
i need that to be able to transfer to ba media and communications

would i have to study my arse off all year?
would it be worth it - i really wanna do that course but it would take me like 5 yrs if i did it that way and im not starting until 2005 coz i cant afford to move to sydney :(

please give me some advice

Well i only one arts subject this year (Sociology) and three commerce subjects and next year i'll do the opposite.

But to answer your question , i think if you do all your set readings each week, practice essay writing and start assessments early then it won't be difficult to get a distinction average.

It would also be useful to choose arts subjects that you'll particularly like doing. I did Society and Culture in year 11-12 so i was really interested in doing sociology which got me a High Distinction this year!
