metals are a lattice of positive ions in 'sea of electrons'.
electrons drift from the negative to positive when an electric field is applied. electrons collide with impurities and the lattice and face resistance.

superconductors below critical temperature have a lattice that distorts. an electron distorts the lattice to create a region of positive density, attracting a second electron. the 'cooper pair' faces no resistance.

something like that?
