Well your web browser seems to work. Is it any program or alot of them? if so which ones in particular?

Have you tried restarting the computer?

You should also try scanning for spyware and viruses. Perhaps even run memTEST (although this may consume a significant amount of time) to test your memory integrity.

1.) Restart
2.) Scan for spyware/viruses. Try Spybot and Avast for good free products for this
3.) If that fails, then uninstall any programs you have recently gotten which may be fucking things up
4.) If that fails, backup your files and reinstall windows
5.) If that fails, you're pretty much fucked.

Get a linux boot CD - ie. Knoppix, it's got Open Office (MS office equivilant) and probably has GIMP on it (a photoshop replacement) - get all the important documents you need off the computer as soon as you can.
I'd say its spyware or viruses.
What program(s) are you trying to open when you get the error?
