I haven't played the first one but Max Payne II got near pecfect score by all reviewers.....[not that anyone really gives an F about their geeky comments]...

Well, the story gets a whole lot better. The game mechanics are very simular but the bullet time setup has been tweaked. In short, Remedy perfected an already awesome game.
