According to my Faculty Handbook, in BComm/BSci, u can only take 1 major in Commerce and 1 major in Science, because the degree is only 192UOC (meaning a 4 year degree)

A double degree is quicker than doing two degrees separately, so it's worth it if you don't have that time to waste. :)

Also International Business is widely believed to be the most useless Commerce major available - just look at the subject descriptions.

Changing majors is very easy though so you can see for yourself.

And I think you can only have a single commerce major and no minors for BCom/BSc

It may be useless, but its a very interesting major. It's good to do in combination with marketing, accounting and economics as ur "main" major

Always be sceptical when academics talk about the relevance of their courses or fields of study.

I do it, and trust me its interesting
I do Accounting - which will get me a job, and I do International Business as my other major - which I enjoy

if i'm intending to do actuarial+computer science 1st yr and end up finding acturial too hard and wanna change to accounting, would it be weird to combine accounting with computer science? so still can't decide on whether to do a bcomm/bscience or just bcomm so i can choose 2 majors in commerce

Well, you can always drop computer science as well. Combination with accounting is pretty unusual, but it's still better than straight commerce, I think. You can always claim superior knowledge of Excel VBA as the result ;)

Science degree can show the employers that you have some solid technical skills.
