When 200 mL of 0.300 M AgNO3 and 300 mL of 0.300 M KI are mixed,
the following reaction occurs:

Ag+ + I- AgI(s)

What is the concentration of NO3- in the final solution?

From the equation and the formulas of reactants, the limiting reagent is Ag+ ie. I- in only 200mL of KI would be used in the reaction, while all Ag+ would be used up (theoretically). Since KNO3 is completely soluble in water (so it's not a solid, all NO3- ions are free), there would be 0.2*0.3 = 0.06mol of NO3- present in the final solution. And there is 200mL + 300mL = 500mL solution in total...

(Btw...haven't you already graduated from school? :p)

lol If it's not right, what is it?

It would be weird to put it into [NO3-] = 0.12 M
if that's what you mean...

The only thing I wasn't sure about was the final volume by which you divide the number of moles of NO3-, a bit ick about that 500mL. But I really can't think of an alternative so...enlighten me? :eek:
