Hi,

im interested in going for a diploma in business studies in tafe - it simply says it requires a HSC or equivalent and makes no mention of a UAI.

Would a UAI be needed here?

Nope :)

UAI = University Admissions Index
TAFE = Not University

edit: oops, didn't read above

As above, no UAI needed for tafe/diploma courses.

Theres other things you can do besides a diploma, for example, have you herd of ABA (Aus. Business Academy), its in North sydney but yeh depends where you live I suppose.

And theres also SIBT as macquarie university, both do not need UAI

ABA and SIBT both give you a diploma, pretty much the same at TAFE except for some minor differences and that they give you a better chance of articulating into a Bachelor degree at uni.

SIBT does require a minimum UAI of 63

Well SIBT garuntee's you passage into a B. degree at macquarie atleast
And the 63 UAI is not true, my brother got 59 and got into SIBT, then acheived a GPA of 3.8
And another friend got 55ish and got in also
I believe the 63 UAI is needed to do the accelerated course where you finish the diploma in 8 months instead of 11 or whatever
