I’m offering tutoring in economics and in all levels of mathematics for motivated students who desire to better themselves and achieve higher marks.

I received a UAI of 100.00 in the 2005 HSC. My marks are as follows:

Economics – 99 (1st in the state)
English Advanced – 90
Mathematics Extension 1 – 100 (2nd in the state)
Mathematics Extension 2 – 96
Modern History – 98 (=2nd in the state)
Physics – 97 (4th in the state)

My aim in tutoring is to share the knowledge and skills that I used in the HSC which will hopefully, with some hard work, enable you to achieve high marks. I’ll be trying to strengthen the concepts and ideas you learn in class, to expose you to a wide range of questions and to refine your economics essay writing skills.

My rate is $25/hour and I’ll be tutoring in Kogarah Library (approximately a 5 minute walk from Kogarah Station).

If you have any questions or if you are interested then please post a reply or email me:

k8058, get used to this question. People never stop asking. Ever.

No seriously. Ever.

But for the benefit of those that read: 99.6/100 rounds to 100 in the HSC. There's no decimal place in the HSC marks, but there's 1 dp in the ranks.

EDIT: I just saw the rate. Man, I charge more than that for maths tutoring. JACK THE PRICE, YOU CAN GET MORE MONEY!

I think that quite a few people get 100 for ext 1 maths, not just the person who comes first in the state. My friend, for example, came 8th in maths ext 1 and he also got 100.

I also think that an aggregate of 482 or 483 will get you 100 UAI, so you can actually get 100 without a band 6 in English.

What's reasonable for tutoring nowadays anyway?

Reasonable enough so that you actually have students that stay. And also, a rate that reflects your teaching ability/experience.

I think that $25/hour is reasonable if the tutor did well in the HSC but has limited tutoring experience
