I think I'm probably the king of truancy here.

I've skipped 3 of 4 1901 (advanced) lectures, one 1901 tutorial, 1 1902 lecture, 1 3 hour biology practical, 2 physics lectures, 2 biology lectures and 2 chemistry lectures.

But a few of those were unintentional, because I WAS actually sick on Monday. Other than that.. didn't turn up because I didn't feel the need ---> conventional truancy, I guess.

50%? It depends on your subject, mate. For mathematics, it's around 80%.

actually its really up to the unit...
for econ they are not compulsory.. they are recommended, but not compulsory...
for philosophy you don't have to turn up to anything...
math you have to turn up to at least 80% and same goes with psych......

its also 80% with some of the other arts units....

you have mrs taylor too? I've decided to miss mainly all my bio lectures from now on as well. That Mrs Taylor is so darn boring! I just kept falling asleep in the lecture. And i've skipped a 2 chem lectures too. meh... its no big deal, its only first year.

actually you can skip all the bio lectures and still get a good mark i think because they post up very good notes for BIOL1001. the only thing i might worry about is previous exam questions like they did on thrusday or announcements for notes and stuff that need to be changed. i have to attend 100% of my clinical pracs and visits -_-".

I think you'll find that there is a University wide attendence requirement, and failure to satisfy it usually means they have grounds to fail you. In the vast majority of cases (esp. with lectures) this would never be used provided you pass the exam and all compulsory components - unless you really really pissed someone off (I have never known of this happening). The exception to this is where they really spell out a requirement, take the roll, etc., or where you are required to demonstrate competency - for example, chem prac.

Wrong. 80% for mathematics, 90% for chemistry.

I recon all u've gotta do is turn up for tutorials, cause the chance of a lecturer noticing your truanting during a lecture is 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000%

It is infact 50% for accounting, the tutor made that very clear
For law it's 70% as stated in the course outline
