Trigonometric expansion in cmplx no.s (1 Viewer)

There is a section in the Lee book on trigonometric expansions of complex numbers, but it has a disclaimer saying "not in current syllabus, but highly recommended".
Is it worth doing? or is it a waste of time?

wat expansions exactly are you talking about. Give me an example and ill give you an answer as to its usefulness or whether its required.

Are you talking about the relationship between cos^2 + sin^2 = 1 and De Moivre's? That IS worth learing ...

As Ozz^E said, give us an example ...

definitely learn it! It may not be in the syllabus, but I've done many Trial HSC papers where they ask similar questions, and this year's HSC had one too (Question 8, (a)(i)).
