Just out of curiousity,

What will a 60% and 70% raw marks of CSSA exam will get someone at HSC?

or is it impossible to answer?

I think it's impossible to answer. The CSSA could end up being easier/harder than the HSC, so any guessing would be exactly that... guessing.

Well i'm starting to think my exam was really easy - despite the fact that they asked qtns about stuff not in the sylabus. Either that or i had an easy marker.

-90%, think it was first , not sure cause i do it by Distance Ed

I did the CSSA paper too, found it OK, pretty hard. Ended up with nearly 80%, next mark below me was 53%, class is full of no-hopers, who should be on their ass. Hoping to pull a Band 5 for the subject, anyone know if 80% in the catholic paper would put me into a position to acheive a Band 5 for HSC
?? Thanks :)

A raw mark of ~75 in the HSC exam would have gotten you close to 90 last year I think. And the catholic trial papers are a bit dodgy...I think it's a bit easier to compare your trial marks to HSC standards using the independant papers.

What? so a raw mark of 75 would have been scalled to 90?

Remember that the UAC takes your raw mark and scales it.

Not your aligned mark.

Do you guys think that the hsc exam will be harder then the trials or it will be easier then the trials?? Coz i heard from everyone past years that the point of the trials is to try and give yah a boot in the behind if u are failing. Plz tell me this is true. ahhaahah

I think he's just worried about the band 6.

Last year's paper had 3 algorithms if you did the Software Developers View of Hardware option topic. Wouldn't exactly call that simple...but I heard (from ppl who did the other topic) that it was piss easy if you were good at memorising stuff.

It depends what you are good at.

If you are good SDD all round usually the HSC exam is easier.

If you suck at algorithms like me you better pray to god that this years doesn't have as much as 2002. I was lucky this year's CSSA didn't have a big emphasise on algorithms.

I did the trial with the credit card algorithm, think it was the independent. Anyways, I came first with 82 1/2, the next two guys in my class came behind me with 82 and 81.
