I do not know what these rules are or how to use them. I tried to find a formula online but it's different depending on how many numbers you have and I don't know what to do with it. For the question I'm doing, there are five 3m intervals and I'm trying to find the area. Thanks to anyone who can help

I think you're talking about the trapezoidal rule...? If you don't know where to find the formula, look at the HSC Reference Sheet (Mathematics Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2 Reference Sheet (educationstandards.nsw.edu.au))

both are right and will give the same result
