well, firstly you have to make a decision as to what you would like to do with your life and whether university is applicable. But once thats settled the low down, if you were to transfer:
If you want to transfer internally into another UWS course, you can use the guaranteed course transfer as long as you have a GPA > 5.01 link -->
http://policies.uws.edu.au/view.current.php?id=00175#maj1 or else you can go through UAC like before but you will be treated as a non recent school leaver [NRSL] applicant [with its associated forms to fill in] and you should refer to the uni you want to get in to to see what their selection criteria is. Some are GPA, other UAI/GPA etc. You can get equivalent value for your GPA in the document from frigid doc -->

than if the uni uses selection criteria for UAI/GPA, you just add your uai and the equivalent uai of your gpa from the document and you get your NRSL mark.
With wasting a year, you can use those units as electives in your new course, so if you do transfer than you can still study but you wont have any electives left. apply for academic credit. As you get credit, they dont charge you again for hecs.
