Federal Government Budgets and budget outcomes

Well, the budget is a annual statement that happen every year where the government uses it income and spends it on certain goals. It is funded by:

-Direct tax (the tax u here about, like taking there percentage from other people income)
-Indirect tax (this is like Goods and service tax with the 10%, also known as GST)
-Other revenue ( such as the government businesses)

There are three outcomes

Budget surplus - Revenue > Expenditure
Budget Deficit - Expenditure < Revenue
Budget Balance- Expenditure = Revenue

effects of budgetary changes on resource use, income distribution and
economic activity

Resource use- influencing resources bassicaly
Income distribution- Using taxation to distribute wealth and income, and also other stuff life social welfare
Economic activity - Using the fiscal policy to influence economic activity

methods of financing deficits
-
Borrowing from the general public through treasury bonds
-Borrowing oversea (not a smart idea since it will worsen the CAD)
-Borrowing of the RBA , they can borrow money of the RBA or they can print more money to fund there expenditure
-Selling assest (e.g, selling telstra and government businesses)

using the surplus
they can pay back debt, save it, basically what ever they want, but most likly they do the right thing with the surplus

This is just a sketch of what ur suppose to know, plus if there any problem with this, someone correct me. This just gives you an idea,

Fiscal policy is gay

It is nothing in the world of economics

Technically it is a macroeconomic policy that is meant to manage demand. Except it is more of a political tool than an economic one.

It is secondary to monetary policy, and is used more to achieve microeconomic objectives than it is macroeconomic ones (funnily enough). The govt is aiming to achieve fiscal consolidation by having surplus budgets to make up for our savings deficit, howevor even this is an evil socialist policy. The govt should be running balanced budgets within fiscal years, not cycles (as is the current objective).

Its nothing.

Just say all that your textbook says it does, but dont get carried away with all the promised shit that fiscal policy is meant to do, as it does nothing cept boost a govt re-election chances every 3 years.

Whether it is what you say or not really isn't going to help ppl write for their HSC.

And it does make a difference, and should be studied. What if they ask the impact of macroeconomic policies on income distribution. You can't just ignore a segment of economics.

I'd like to see how its an evil socialist policy? (no sarcasm)

3 points

1 - I was generally being cynical

2 - the two prior posts have already answered the question so theres no point me saying the same thing twice - hence I didn't really talk about the question

3 - fiscal policy is a socialist policy. Is it evil? Thats a matter of opinion ;)

okay since they have an answer

yeah i kinda realised u were being cynical...but still let the kids dream and get excited about what they learn for a bit....

Also, i know that you saying "fiscal policy is an evil socialisy policy" (or something along those lines) is a matter of opinion. Whats the basis was what i was trying to ask.

Sorry added this part:

also, someone could just steal ur idea...and say that it is an evil socialist policy...which u havent backed up. and so they would look pretty stupid in their essay. So you could like explain why you have your opinion so as to give them a chance to write that fiscal policy is infact what you say it is
