..have you taken the p.o.v. that A Simple Plan is a transformation of Chaucer, or that both A Simple Plan and Chaucer are transformations of an ancient allegory/moral tale?

I prefer the second one, Sam Raimi apparantly was not influenced by Chaucer and had not even read it when he filmed A Simple Plan. Plus you can discuss the influence of context on values in both approaches.. Any thoughts?

I preferred the second approach myself but Sam Raimi did base the movie on a book and I have no idea if the author of that book was inspired by chaucer or not.

the irony in this transformation is that a pardoner's tale was an transformation itself. it was based on the allegory of the 3 rioters etc.
so yeah, u kinda have to mention that it was a transformation of an allegory yadda yadda....get me??
