The X-Files seasons 1-9 out now, each about 5-8 discs. Go to Sanity or it. $30 a season. The X-Files Essentials, 8 handpicked episodes, 2 discs, for $19.88. Haven't seen Fight the Future out though. Someone tell me where it is so I can go back and judge it again.

And if you don't know the x-files go to Sanity and pick up the first season!! The pilot is awesome.

Go pick your fav episodes. I have two.

Clyde Bruckman's Final Response

Skeptical of a famous psychic’s predictions regarding the murder of several prognosticators, Mulder instead finds someone who he believes truly can predict the future. Catching the killer could prove difficult, though, particularly if the murderer can also see into his future.

  • This episode won two Emmys. One was for the writing, and the other was awarded to Peter Boyle for his guest appearance in this episode.
  • This episode was named the 10th greatest episode in TV history by TV Guide.
Bad Blood

While investigating bizarre exsanguinations in Texas, Mulder kills a teenage boy whom he "mistakes" for a vampire. Awaiting a meeting with Skinner, Mulder and Scully attempt to get their stories “straight” by relating to each other their differing versions of what happened during their investigation. Gillian Anderson actually voted this her favourite episode.

Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose is pretty fantastic. I'm a little iffy over choosing the other comedy episodes - it seems like saying that the parmesan cheese is better than the spaghetti bolognaise to pick those episodes. Hence, favourites:

Gethsemane/Redux/Redux II
Memento Mori
Die Hand Die Verletzt
Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose
Anasazi//Paper Clip (Blessing Way blew, but it was necessary)
Medusa (possibly)

I have all the DVD's and have begun to watch it all from start to finish

I finished season 1 yesterday.

Really, watching them all back to back you come to realise just why this show is etched deeply into popular culture. It is fucking BRILLIANT.

Shame about the feeble attempts at the movies of X files though. but fuck, it is so damn good.

I vaguely remember episodes from childhood so that's why I want to watch the complete show all over again.

Fav's from season 1:

006-106 "Shadows"
008-108 "Ice"
011-111 "Eve"
014-114 "Gender Bender"
015-115 "Lazarus"
019-119 "Shapes"
022-122 "Born Again"

Wait til you get to season 9, if you haven't seen all the eps yet. You'll cry with disappointment. :(

Shadows is shit, imo. Squeeze/Tooms, EBE, Eve and Erlenmeyer Flask ftw.

imo? 6, only to become very interesting again in season 8 (on and off mulder creates great stories), followed by a sharp decline from the beggining of season 9 to the end, which is the finale.

seasons:
3>5>4>8>1>2>7>6>9
or something.

seasons 3,4,5 are the work of Gods though. Spectacular tv.

I like them too, but I reckon that far too many people put those episodes at the top of their list and to me that kinda defeats the point of the show.

It's like saying the parmesan cheese is better than the spaghetti bolognaise...imo.

Loved Die Hand, loved Anasazi and loved Blood. I despised Firewalker - it's a shit reincarnation of the superb 'Ice' from season 1, with less excitement, originality and interesting storyline. Our Town is somewhat average too imo (great story, but nothing superb. Plus the end is a cliche).

Season 3>Season 2. Look foward to it! :D

^agreed. it's one of the best seasons there is. season 2 looks shit by comparison.

Blessing Way is a little too schmaltzy and sentimental imo, so I've never included it in my top episodes list.

I'm a bit surprised that you didn't pick Jose' Chung's or Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose. CBFR is one of the finest hours of tv ever. perfect episode from all aspects, no?
