What are the usefulness and limitation of molecular models when we are using them for modeling polymers?

Thx

Advantages:
  • allows complex molecules like glucose to be viewed and allows students to analyse their structure
  • clearly shows how isomers can be made
  • using differently coloured balls for each different molecule, structure can be seen
  • single and double bonds can be clearly viewed
  • shape can be seen
Disadvantages:
  • Models are not to scale
  • They are a static representation of something dynamic
  • An atom is mainly empty space. Using models, it is being represented as a solid
