basically a group of teens who go camping and while they're camping an asian country takes over Australia and then they try rescue loved ones, save their properties, fight against the new country. Then there's the personal side - dealing with death, love, friendships etc..

sorry i gave a pretty unenthusiastic summary, but the series is quite good it makes you feel as though you're right there and probably kinda realistic for the given situation :)

It's a really good series- well-written and a cool/interesting plot. Quite a bit of action (which I liked), but it is also about relationships, dealing with hardship etc- sort of 'ordinary teens in an extraordinary situation' type of book. Some people think the series gets a bit repetitive after a while, but i personally liked all the books. I'd definitly give them a go! :)

just for interests sake, there's also a movie being made at the moment based on the books.

I really enjoyed this series, I thought it was very well written with amazing characters and an interesting plot. About after the 5th book, I stated to feel that it did become a bit repetitive, however I have read the series mutliple times, so it can't be that bad.

Honestley I feel that you should at least try the first book. See how you like or dislike it. However, you will soon grow to like characters, and will get the urge to read the whole series just to see what happens to your favourite!

Yes it is an excellent series, and by YA standards the books are instant classics. I highly recommend that you read, just give the first book a go and you can decide where to go from there.
For me, well I devoured the first book in about 2 hours and was rushing around to find The Dead of the Night - the second book. About the middle of last year everyone I knew was reading them, although some were re-reading. They are pretty intense, with a good dose of everything - love, hate, passion and of course war.

4.5/5

Fairly certain it made reference to some typically "Asian" characteristics (facial features etc).
Idk, though.
I read the first book. Always meant to read the others but changed schools and my new school didn't have them.
*sigh*

A little bit.
But I'm getting used to barely sleeping these days.
Way too much on my mind etc.
And I start work in 4 hours... not much point going to bed now.

Namu, why on earth are you up at this time?!

Good luck! (Even though, for you, luck won't have anything to do with it!)

its about a bunch of teens who get stuck in a war and are able to stay uncaptured by the enemy (everyone else in australia is being held prisoner) basically they blow some stuff up and try to become cool soldiers...this is a really bad description as they are really good books, they were my fave when i was 14, but i'd still read them now
