Surely there are others on this forum who have an interest in being classy and enjoying their alcohol without getting wasted on it, so I want to start this thread as a thread where we can share and recommend beers, whiskeys, wines, vodkas, etc, that we've tried and appreciated.

My first recommendation would have to be Jameson Irish Whiskey. At ~$40/bottle, you get an incredibly smooth flavour and a light burn if you're not a fan of burns. Goes well straight, or on the rocks/with lime.

I have a friend that drinks a lot of alcohol. Does 17 L for every 100km.

Maybe I should start filling him up with unleaded 95 instead of alcohol :p

Laphroaig 10.

Can't go back to blended scotch after that.

Nice and mellow (for a cheap brew); goes well with coke (the drink!); It's like a dollar or two cheaper than Jack, I think it is a bit better...

Mad brew (straight only, you're a knob if you put coke in this one)

For an acquired taste (personally, I think it tastes terrible), got a mate that likes it... However, I DO NOT! recommend this one... unless you really like your scotch...

For when times are tough (when I am being a tin arse), goes really, really well with vanilla coke...

there's good quality alcohol and bad quality alcohol that's true
but classy alcohol? all alcohol is about as classy as cigarettes lets be real, there's nothing classy about consuming poison
But everything is a poison.

I really enjoy sweet dessert wines like muscato and lambrusco.

people who describe themselves as "classy" tend to be extremely lame
