I'm sure the Champions League is enticing, but it seems like Arsenal's youth team is not having much joy either. We won the second leg of the FA Youth Cup semi final in dramatic fashion, with us scoring in second half extra time and again in the second half of extra time to win the game on aggregate. What a moment, hopefully these young fellas can take down the Scousers in the final too.

Oh and come on PSV, own them Scousers. :D

3-0 to Liverpool

Good performance by us, capitalised on all of PSV's mistakes/injuries to get the three goals.
And what goals they were, Gerrard with cannon header over Kuyt, Riise with a trademark thunderbolt from 30 yards out and finally Crouch using his height to full advantage for the header.
We did'nt play our best soccer though, a lot of stray passes and a couple of close calls at the back. PSV really gave it away in the second half with dreadfull defending, as Gerrard said we need a professionel performance at Anfield and not give anything away.

Heh, Bayern is really looking like the dark horse in the comp.

When Kaka isn't doing much, Milan isn't doing much. And that was the case today. Kaka did win the dodgy penalty, but in the end things evened itself out. 2-2 is a wonderful scoreline for Bayern, and I'd expect them to progress after this.

Now the focus is on United to shut those Romans up. I can't wait for tomorrow.

Yep looks like we're thru, unless PSV can pull off an Istanbul-style Liverpool comeback hehe

And Stevie G is the new top scorer in the European Cup for the Reds, overtaking the great Ian Rush.

Very tough game for us, and I can't complain about the 2-1 scoreline. Roma could've scored more, but they just couldn't finish it off. We showed tremendous spirit, and grabbed a vital away goal which I believe will take us through to the next round. Playing with one less man in midfield will always leave the defence exposed. Scholes had a brain explosion which the team suffered for, but thankfully, the damage wasn't excessive. It's good to see Rooney score his first Champions League proper goal since his debut, we'll certainly be needing more of that next week.

We need Saha and Fletcher fit for next week now that Scholes is suspended for the game. There is another tough away game coming up this weekend at Pompey. We need to bounce back straight away, can't neglect our most important objective which is to win the league.

Chelsea also has a bit to do after they can only manage a draw at home. What a goal by Silva, that was just unbelievable.

wasnt expecting much from united tonite we for some reason always struggle away from home, fergie never lets us play our normal formation and as a resutl we have struggled, united should have been performing much better in europe than we have since 1999, and im amazed that a club of our size we have struggled to get past the quarters. Still a decent result, only need a 1-0 win next week. scholes, as much as a legend always for me anyway is a ticking time bomb, his tackles are horrible, and its incredible he hasnt been sent of more times in his career.

I have a feeling we are going to have a dip in form the next couple weeks, no vidic, silvestre, and with neville still not fully fit, our defence, which has been rock solid, will be streched, and i do not rate brown at all. Pompey will be tough and a loss wouldnt surprise me, united have this season struggled in the epl after a loss in europe. But all we need is 5 wins out of 7. and 4 of those are at home.
Good play be pool, got a feeling they will make the final, as will bayern imo.

Chelsea played a lot of fancy football that in the end created very little. If it wasn't for the mistake, Valencia could've got away with a win. Having said that, their goal was really created out of nothing, you just can't stop those ones going in.

Scholes undoes all his good work with unnecessary fouls, that's twice this season from what i remember (roma and liverpool).
The riot police looked like they enjoyed dishing out the pain on Man U supporters, I think uefa is right to propose professional stewards in places where they aren't allready used.

Scholes puts in 4 or 5 bookable chalenges in every game but generally gets away with it. It's just the special relationship all the England squad have with the FA, I presume.

Good to see a refferee not bottle it, and actually sending the ranga off.

Oh, and matt might be interested to hear that we've signed apparently the best Portugese defensive prospect going around.

Yago Fernandez, stolen from Valencia on a contract clause for 100k. Should be fun to watch next season.

Even though the ref waved away the penalty that was there?

except bergkamp was at least twice as good. Dwight should go back to making pornos with his mate Mark.

To be fair, Roma played some very good football. We managed to keep them out for most of the game, and their goals all came after Scholes was sent off. Obviously with the extra man our defence was vulnerable. However we managed to score with our only chance of the game and it should make things interesting in the return leg.

Brown, though not the most convincing of centre-backs, is still a good defender. We managed to beat Pompey away last season without Vidic. There is just something different about this team compared to last season. We're more determined, more organised, and Ronaldo has become the best player in the world. O'Shea is the one I'm more concerned about, his first touch and all round technical skill is usually quite poor. But he gets the job done, and he did pretty well in limiting the dangerous Mancini on the left. We just need to concentrate on the league again and I'm sure we'll be fine.

Hope the Spurs can take some points off the Chelscunts. That'll certainly seal the title for us.

I did mention that luck evened itself out, but that was still a ridiculous decision.

Pretty much. If we had a Bergkamp in our team now, half as good as he was from 97-2001, we would be strongly challenging for all three remaining trophies.

Even so, I thought Gilbert was comparing the nostalgic feeling he got from watching one of his favourite players back in his pomp, rather than saying Dwight was in Denis' league.

We managed to scrape a 2-1 over reading, would've preffered a more convincing scoreline but we still got the 3 points. Arsenal's loss has allowed us to make a real lead for 3rd place.

I can't believe Man U is slipping, they better not let the blues get a hat-trick.

Well well well, the title race just got a little more interesting. Bolton finally winning some matches, which is good to see. And with Arsenal slipping to West Ham...anything can happen now.

Although Chelsea definitely have a tougher run home than Man Utd, their match at Stamford Bridge should be great

poor performance by man utd. i could sense after 15mins we werent takin anything away from the game, our defense was wobbly, fergie must get rid of brown, o shea and fletcher, how they are in united shirts makes me think i can play too. this was a game we needed to win, now there is huge pressure, and one more loss and its chelsea for the title. i stil stand my earlier predictions, that it will be chelsea then man utd. all credit to chelsea for another win, thats 8 in a row sure their form aint great but they are winning and not conceding, i beleive they will win the title now with prob 1-2 points as a gap.

with vidic out its easy to see how we struggle with him, and why did fergie put richardson ahead of giggs? i understand to rest giggsy but this was a must win game, now the title is still within chelsea, a side that havent conceded a goal in 8 games, which that form suggests is pretty scary, they are back to how they were a year ago, winning with ease. Well its up to man utd now, 5 wins out of 6 will do it for us, and bring on roma.
