i'm meh on guess handbags, most are those hollogram (?) ones, they're ok.

i thought the self-induced vomiting thing would come up / had definitely come to people's heads and is why i made a serious comment to OJs joke a little while ago. it's not worth putting your internal body and mind through it.

I've never purged. It goes against everything I've ever learnt, both common sensical and nutrition-wise/pdhpe. I understand it's appeal - "a few minutes and your worries are over" but like many other quick fixes, it's extremely bad for your body.

When my body tells me something - ie it's full or in pain, that generally means something is wrong with it, and I should listen to whatever it's telling me to stop doing :)

Here comes my contribution to the thread...

Never, ever purge. Here are some of the medical outcomes (not to mention psychological ramifications - interestingly enough, this list came from my PSY306 study).

(Also, this is just a v. short list of the more common outcomes)

o Menstrual irregularity
o Kidney disease (caused by electrolyte imbalance)
o Tooth decay and loss
o Heart damage
o Internal damage and bleeding
o Gland enlargement, making the face appear chubby (caused by purging)
o Nail decay, scratches, bruises on hands (from shoving your hand down your throat)

Its just so awful... I'm very passionate about things like this (its the reason why I decided to do psych, I wanted to be a clinical psychologist specialising in eating disorders, and have spent countless hours researching it just for interest-sake).

Sorry, not to go all serious, but yeah, its not good....

Whooo hoo! I lost again and havn't seen a number since ever :)

Today was good, except for night time...

Breakfast: 2 toasted crumpets, cheese and devon (gawsh crumpets are an extremely heavy breakfast, when eaten together with cheese and devon, i felt like i was having maccas :) I had carbs this morning because I knew I'de be on "the floor" at work all day so hence ide be able to burn it off.

Lunch: Salad with steamed chicken/capsicum/lettuce and onion
Snack: 3 coffees with FULL cream milk! Arrgh stupid work, I'm going to say something we should get a variety of both skim and full cream milk! The only ever times Kmart has skim milk for employees is when I do the shopping for store supplies on Sunday! and by Wednesday the skim milk is gone! grrr!

Dinner: shitloads of lettuce and marinated chicken and one small potato
Snack: 6 red frogs (the jelly kind) and an apple

Excercise: Gym 30 mins cross trainer and 20 mins weight training

Snack2: 2 peices of cheese and some devon

In regards to self inducing vomitting- totally agree with you all... I admit i tried to but i couldn''t get past the whole "putting a finger down your throat" thing

In regards to Guess brand, I don't really like anything of theirs except their watches, in regards to JAG being cheap, I know! It's just like Fiorelli, i remember back in the day back in the old old old days it used to be up there with guess, but now you can find their wallets for 20 bucks. I'm still in love with my old Liz Caliborne (sp?) wallet, but only because it was purple and purple is my favourite colour and it had awsome material n pattern to it.

I'm really picky about wallets this absolutely PERFECT (forget the brand, im not really intro brands believe it or not lol but it was perrrrfect except it was $110, normally i'de buy it, but i have to be cheap now due to mexico (oooh i'm going in January! instead of August of nextt year instead! :D and I've decided to go on my own :) (just thought i'de insert that in here as a side note)

lol i use a hot pink cotton on 'mini wallet', cuz i like pink
my wallet collection consists of black+rainbow, black+pink+white, polka dotted and stripey roxy and billabong wallets.. yes, i like childishly weird things ... and i need a new wallet! but errm, i do have a fiorelli wallet =D ... but its sooo big lol. i just wanna carry my little money holder lol.

and with the whole purging thing. its suuch a horrible thing to do to your mind (and body, of course). the easier it gets, the harder it is to stop, and you do it more, and it gets harder and harder to stop ... not that i've done it, but i understand how hard it is.

Today:

Breakfast: devon and ketoslim shake
Breakfast2: tub of low fat yoghurt
Lunch: Lots and lots of lettuce with onion/capsicum and steamed chicken salt/pepper
Dinner: one grilled fish, tomato, some beans and some beef (i had from another dish)

Dinner2: i really shouldn't have had this, especially so late in the night but i felt like something sugary and i resisted from the chocolate chip ice cream in the freezer and had 2 weetbix with skim milk instead.

Gym: no gym today

PS: i love work :)

yesterday - reasonably bad, was working in a canteen for mum and had free access to basically everything we were selling + spare Council lunches. Ie, hot dogs (had 2?) toasted sandwiches (2 or 3), beef wellington, smashed potato and big ham slices... ok you know what, that doesn't look that bad anymore :)

Today: Also pretty bad. Not so much food content, but just eating *structure*.

Breakfast - nothing

Lunch - nothing (yeah, this is really bad)

Afternoon tea - two roti

Afternoon tea 2 - 2 scones with butter, some strawberries (REALLY GOOD and "premium quality", from that fruit place in Castle Hill). I'm about to hunt around and see if I can find more potatoes from last night. Or I might have another hot dog. Or something like that.

EDIT: strawberries won out :) so big and red and juicy, yum yum!

breakfast: coffee
lunch: chicken and mushroom crepe, part of a bread roll with butter
snack: mentos yum (a lot =/)
dinner: rice, stir fry, 1/2 chicken stick thing, congee (a bit)
snack/dessert: 3 lemon crisp thingies =/
snack: oj and choc milk

exercise: ermm... putt putt golf today =D. not much calorie burning or muscle toning or whatever but yeh lol

redrum what you have stated her is incorrect. you burn more fat with your heart rate lower. eg for me (age 18) at like 131 beats per minute!!

you burn more fat from walking then running i know it sounds wierd but yeah...

thats sweet cuz i hate running =D
i'm gonna walk to the bustop everyday when we go back to uni again (it's kinda far). i hate treadmilling just because of the whole changing to gymmy clothes and stuff lol. that's why i prefer the bike these days
i did yoga yesterday. it's soo much fun! lol all that stretching haha

anyway, i've been bingeing slightly less but eating really badly in the break
time to *try* to go back to my old healthy self, although not overeating chocolate is sooo friggen hard! All those ppl that say "i cant eat too much chocolate cuz it's too sweet", im so jealoous! lol NOTHING is too sweet!

What is good to eat when you are sick with the flu/throat/etc? Everyones been telling me not to eat dairy but milk is the only thing i think i could shove down my throat at this time.

you need soup dazed! here's wat i have when im sick... i have pour soup but i dont know how to make that, my mum does. But i make creamed corn soup with quail egggs omg its lovely! and to die for!

Recipe (it takes like 5 minutes to make)

Put water in a pan, Throw in a couple of eggs stir it all around, put some vvegetable stock in, chuck in the quail eggs and put creamed corn in and wait till it boils! OMG droooooool! Yummmmm and if ur feeling better and u cud eat more, chuck in some chicken! It is good for you but don't have heaps, u'll put on weight... so just chuck a me and take out the eggs, creamed corn and put leek into it so u've only got, leek, vegetable stock (on my really really good days) and put some quail eggs in! LOL


In other news! I went to my naturalist herbalist today (i havnt seen him since goodness knows when lol but he's really impressed :) my body fat percentage decreased by more than 5% since i last saw him :D and im just a few kilos till i get to my healthy weight range :d LOL i can't wait until the charts no longer consider me "overweight!"

Whoot whoot!

Today:
Breakfast: steamed english spinach and steamed chicken
Snack: two poached eggs (i no longer eat the yellow bit)
Lunch: Ketoslim shake but I'm about to embark on more spinach while i watch oprah

Excercise: Gym session... not much 20 mins treadmilling and 30 minutes stretching/resistance training. I'm going again tonight to do some more cardio though :)

YAY I'M SOOO PSYCHED AND READY NOW TO DO MORE NOW!

The bad food I've had for the past two days consists of three meals (dinner and lunch sometimes) of honey chicken with fried rice and a few meals with massive amounts of rice for dinner

Hmm...isn't the goodness in a massive plate of spinach equivalent to that of a tiny piece of lean beef.

I'd go steak everytime.

lol well im sure steak is better in iron and protein lol but u can't really compare the two in terms of fibre/fat/

Yeah, I guess spinach can be ok. Some wilted spinach is nice with a salmon and garlic butter pasta. Mmm.

Hmm, that kinda defeats the purpose of this 'healthy eating' thing.

yes soups are the best. and hot drinks, with honey and lemon is nice. i think anything watery is good because it goes down more easily, and hot because it takes away some of the throat pain for a short time, and it's more 'comforting'. i don't think there's much wrong with dairy when you have the flu and aren't vomiting if you feel like it, for me it clogs my nose up more.

Haha. They go incredibly well together. Seriously folks, try wilted spinach, salmon, garlic butter and pasta (simple fusilli will do) with pecorino (parmasen will do) over the top. Guranteed mouthgasm.
