Human rights = right wing propaganda.

Rightio. Those who abuse the rights of the human race should be answerable to the human race. As I posted, human rights abuses hurt all of humanity.
nope only the bad ones will experience "human right abuse" (ie separatists, murderers, cults, traitors) many wont

however in the past lots of innocent ppl due to one party system laws did get executed. fortunately its getting better today

Ironically, it's probably China who'll be in hell if it moves for Taiwan through force. Taiwan is a US ally, buddy, and has two massive US allies just above: South Korea and Japan, who together have some of the biggest armies and best military technology in the world. Australia could also be called into action depending on America's tactics.

Anyway, Taiwan doesn't belong to China anymore than Australia belongs to England.
lol
the alliance with US hhahahahhaha taiwan???
who do u think US will choose to be alliance with?
China or Taiwan?
i know that US is incredibly Jealous cos of china's growing power and economy and they're trying incredibly hard to get rid of this competitor
but come on !! they owe china like billions of friken money
they're in economic decline and the country is getting pretty bad compared to last few years...
there is no country in the WORLD that will stand against CHina right now
in this situation

well Australia statistically did not belong to England the first place
it was a "COLONY" from around the 1700s
so technically its not part of England

well taiwan technically IS WAS and WILL be part of china
cos they're ethnically historically technically part of CHINA

so less than 5 yrs or so Taiwan will be back jus like HK and macau

I love how all the idiotic Chinese are claiming that the US is 'jealous' of China. They're ascribing a status that doesn't exist because they're all nationalistic fucks. China is prosperous because it exploits its population to within an inch of their lives.

Parts of countries change all the time. Taiwan is an independent nation and should be allowed sovreignty if the individuals there disagree with Chinese rule.

Basic principles.

Same thing can be said about America, Australia, S Korea, Japan etc. If you look at history countries started out with lax labour laws. In fact the on of the reasons why production is getting more expensive in China is because of the increasing labour restrictions.

No exploitation of labour is nothing more than a Socialist pipe dream that is not possible.

By the way the majority of people on Taiwan don't want independence. The popular opinion is status quo.

I wouldn't say it's blind, rather, it's reactionary. Chinese people, at least, weren't this openly nationalistic towards the West until the world decided to make an Olympic Sport about China bashing.

In my honest opinion, if change has to come to China, it has to be gradual. Pressure is good and all, but when you riddle that pressure with hidden agendas and whatnot, it can be counter-productive; rather than inspiring the Chinese to rise in some revolution, it'll just inflame them even more.

Ultimately, a country of 1.3 billion is hard to control, and if you constantly point out flaws in a country that hasn't fully developed yet, harping on human rights, you'll inevitable demean and antagonise the actual people you're trying to 'free'.

Freedom of speech hasn't lifted any country out of poverty and ignominy. I'd like to think it's more of an after-product than anything else. And given that China's social development lags years behind the West, wouldn't you find it a bit rich that people just suddenly demand for them to live up to Western sensibilities, after the turmoil of the last two centuries? Can you now understand why the ordinary Chinese isn't blindly supporting their government, but rather taking over-the-top criticism as an affront to their pride and identity?

Ultimately, change comes from within. And look at what happens with radical plans for change - Tian An Men - did it really do anything, 20 years on? Granted, China has human rights issues, but it would be unfair to dismiss the social progress the country has made given the turbulence of its recent history.

Napolean was no fool when he stated that China was a sleeping giant and when it awoke the world would shake. Well it's not sleeping anymore and the rest of the world is becoming concerned. Yes the Chinese are oppressed and living in a totalitarian state......but not to the extent dim wits claim, but then what makes people think that we live in democracies run by popularly elected political parties. That's a contradiction in terms for a start because countries run by political parties are not democracies, just a mere shadow of one.

The reason we are seeing the hostile nationalism from the chinese is recent times is because with increased internet, and access to foreign press, the chinese are only just starting to become aware of what the rest of the world has been saying for many years.

It's not that criticism is much worse now, if anything there's been more positive press and attitudes to China in the past 5-10 years, compared to back in the early 90's.
It's just that access to information is gradually starting to become freer in China, the average chinese are starting to get access to world press, and are shocked by the reality of how they are perceived.

The chinese aren't used to the Western media, and how hostile they will be to anyone and anything. If China want to play on the world stage, they need to get used to this criticism, and realise it's entirely deserved.

Re: Boycott of Olympics

What are you going to do, spank them? You think they're going to listen - or even care - if some countries pull out of the Olympic Games they're hosting? They'll probably see it as an opportunity to win more medals, if anything.

One day Tibet will be free. It might not be in our lifetimes, but it will be free. But boycotting the Olypmic Games isn't going to make it go any faster.

If you want to do something, don't call for a boycott just because everyone is. Find something worth devoting your attention to and fight for it. It might be Tibet or Darfur or whatever, but make sure you truly believe in it. Some people might say "yeah, I support Tibet's freedom", but other people will actually dedicate themselves to it. I've seen people call for all sorts of things, but they haven't meant it. They just did it because everyone else did. But I've also seen one person who actually believes in her causes ... and I've seen her do some of the most incredible things I have seen another human being do.
Lets set the story straight, the tibetans are free, ok,
the chinese government liberated the tibetanns from the evil budda men who cut peoples hands off dryem up and usem as back scratchers.

For crying out loud man china cant afford bloody provences breaking up, the economy will dintegrate and there will be wars, it needs to be one counrty one flag one people. simple.

This video proves how moronic the "Free Tibet" protesters are.
YEAH. THAT 1 MINUTE OF VIDEO FOOTAGE SUCCESSFULLY DISPROVES ALL ARGUMENTS AGAINST A FREE TIBET AND MAKES EVERYONE WHO HOLDS SUCH BELIEFS LOOK IDIOTIC.

THANK YOU MOTHERLAND CHINA. PRAISE
