i think it was okay-hard, but too many extended qs, not enough calculations.
oh and i got ph 3. had a few mind blanks in the multiple choice, oh well. its good if its hard to separate people, but so much writing, 7 mark qs- i think thats what made it so long!!

Yeah I also got 2.52 for the standard solution question.

With the pH question I got:

C1V1=C2V2

0.01 x 10 = C2 x 90

C2 = 0.0011111..........

pH = -log10 [0.001111....]

= 2.95

Thats what I got, Im now uncertain after reading everyone elses response.

i thought it was okay. not that hard no too easy. but i'm not very good at chem so maybe it didn't appear hard cos i didn't understand it all

by the way, what was that thing about the concentration of copper sulfate after the copper solid formed on the Zinc.....

i didn't get how to work it out....

i didn't really think it was that different....maybe i'm just being ignorant :)

right well it took me an hour forty to do it and all the other squares!!yes you too krina!!:) stayed in till the end, or nearly!!! i agree with yulia, about how to fail, cause thats pretty much what i did except i turned up to class to break the glassware as often as possible with a little help from my chem partner krina!!!more advice would be to actually do y11 to get even the foundation knowledge for y12, do anything really, just more than me!!!!lol:)

I think you had to work out how many moles had reduced into solid, then substract that from the amount of moles in the original solution (0.05/4) then turn it into litres again

I hope

They ADD 90mL to the already present 10ml, so V2 = 100

2.52 for the sodium hydrogen carbonate question
0.03mol/L for the other one.

overall, pretty straightforward, funny how it resembled the Science Teachers' Association Trial HSC Paper of 2001.

btw, what did everyone get for the multiple choice question about which of those substances forms a coordinate covalent bond?

nope, if the boat was like 2000m under then maybe that sulfat-reducing bacteria might have done something. But as i said before, if ur eyes were functioning u would have been presented with the answer straight in front of u
