Hey Guys,
Well I Managed To Fudge Up My Eco Trial Today, But Hey...
Anyways I'm Just Curious As To Which Eco Textbooks You Guys Use. We Use Tim Dixhead's "Australia In The Global Economy" (which the skool provided us with) And We Had To Buy The "Updated Economics" Series Ourselves...Man Are These Textbooks In-depth Or What!?
Okies, Later.

hey is the excel 1 good?
cos i got this get smart 1..and it seems like that the author just sumarised the notes from the dixon, riley, bulmer...and stuff..
i use the bulmer 1...and it's sooo detailed...

eco is a weird subject some books are too detailed and some just summarise too little to be useful

I reckon all the text books are useful in their own way
Our school gives us the Updated Economics series (Bulmer), and I've got the fat Dixon one, and Excel
the Updated series is good for raw stats and in-depth study into specific topics
Dixon is good for the theory
and Excel is good for short answer/multiple choice revison notes

:D

My school doesn't have textbooks...Ive have heard that there isn't any for one of the topics, and we ordered some ages ago for our last topic, but they still haven't come :(
Our teacher's notes seem to be pretty okay and they look like they follow the syllabus. :)
Yeah I bought excel...and I didn't really like it that much, but its good if I didn't understand something in class etc.

you're school doesnt have textbooks?
how disadvantageous and unfair, i reckon...

yep, Excel is complete dogsh*t on its own
however its good as a brief summary to complement texts such as Dixon and Riley

yes but its okay...our library has heaps of economics textbooks, like all the Uni micro and macro ones.
And we 'have' textbooks, the stupid school just hasn't covered them and put barcodes etc on them. I do remember getting given the Autralia's place in the Global economy except thats just full of essays...
I think we should be getting the real textbooks sometiem soon - I hope.

um, geez, i have so many books it aint funny

hmmm

  • Dixon
  • Get Smart
  • Excel
  • Riley Workbook
  • A gazillion lecture handouts
  • That purple eco book I just 'permanently' borrowed from the library (till the end of my HSC)

Im so organised as you can see, I have many viewpoints and perspectives on the variety of economic situations and principles, therefore i have an absolute advantage in economic books and an absolute advantage in economic knowledge, muhahahahha!!!
