Sorry guys, as stupid as this sounds I would like to find a list of all the majorly used text types and their conventions. I know how to write a speech and a newspaper article, however I've never actually been taught the finer stylistics, either that or I have forgotten. Things like letters, newspaper articles, speeches, exposition essays, discussion essays, synthesis essays, interviews, scripts, critical responses etc. (i.e. any more that you can think of that are relevant).

Thanks in advance, I'm referring mainly to the English Advanced and Standard course here.

Feature articles- they don't really talk about events, they more or less talk about facts like health in Australia, etc- think of them as not having a specific date mentioned in them....for interviews, don't forget radio and television interviews differ...Diary entry, but I've never seen one...letter to the editor is more opinionated, whereas a normal letter is i don't know (i cant remember) :(
