I''m considering teaching English overseas this year. I've just completed my HSC and I'm thinking of teaching English in China while I improve my Chinese (which is slipping rapidly).

To those who has done this before, can you offer some insight?

I know a TESOL certificate is required, but there's so many companies offering it. What's the difference between all of those?

Also, how do I find a job overseas once I get my TESOL cert? Is it better off to go with one of those companies that "guarantees" a job?

Thanks in advance!

A friend of mine taught English in China for a year, and she hated it. I think it was bad for her because she was white and couldn't speak chinese (i'm assuming you are chinese...), some old lady actually spit in her face once. I don't know how she got the job, but most of the time you will be placed in a rural village and not in a city or big village.
