Hi,
does anyone know any strengths or weaknesses of systems and contingency managment theories. My textbook refuses to tell me.

Anyway for contingency for strengths would it just be that the business ia able to be flexible and it is practical as they can select a managment style for the situation?

if anyone has any ideas help would be so every much apreciated
thanks

The syllabus does not require us to know the strengths and weaknesses of the systems/contingency theories
Only the classic scientific, behavoural and political.

yes, contingency is very flexible.

Systems is basically the same as behavioural but with a different focus. The focus is on the PROCESS ie. a good system. There is also a focus on specialised divisions and groups who work seperately but come together to form the whole of the business. The best example i can think of is a hospital. With tons of diff departments eg. burns, emergency, children.... it all is sperate yet interrelated, and come together with the same goal of the business.
