What exactly do they mean by the effect of an information system on individual, society and environment.
For individual, do they mean like whats changed?
But wouldnt that be the same for society?? as Society is made up of numerous individuals

And Environment, are they talking about the 'Environment' as we learn it in IPT as everything that affects or is affected by the information system or the 'Environment" as in greenpeace? Trees, plants etc...

Anyone got some general points that could be used for this type of question

As the syllabus says thats all to do with social and ethical values
Individuals and society do often overlap
accuracy of data, security of data, changing nature of work
individuals = ergonomics, bias, copyright, privacy
environment = lighting, climate, noise and wider issues of pollution, disposal of waste / obsolete equipment

also consider machine centred systems vs human centred

don't forget equity.

some systems, especially web based systems provide access to services that would otherwise be inaccessible to some people.

for example housebound people such as housewives who have children and people with physical disabilities and people who live in remote areas all benefit greatly from such services as online banking and ecommerce sites.

there are negative effects too, especially for visually impaired people, elderly people who are not technologically confident and people from a nesb.
