These questions are HSC style that I made up. I am usually pretty good at guessing the questions for the Society and Culture Exam, as I follow the syllabus closely to see which dot points haven't been asked.
Section I - Social and Cultureal Continuity and Change
Part A (18 marks)
Question 1 (6 marks)
a) Define enculturation. (1 mark)
b) Define acculturation. (1 mark)
c) Describe how enculturation leads to continuity and how acculturation leads to change. (4 marks)
Question 2 (6 marks)
a) Explain the methodology action research (2 marks)
b) Evaulate the effectiveness of action research as a methodology to investigate whether students find a range of HSC courses stimulating and challenging. (4 marks)
Question 3 (6 marks)
a) Distinguish between industrialisation and globalisation. (1 mark)
b) Discuss the influence of technology and gender on decision-making. (5 marks)
Part B (12 marks)
In reference to your selected country, answer the following questions
a) Identify ONE features that demonstrate both continuity and change in the selected country (2 mark)
b) Describe how this specific feature assists you to understand change in that country. (4 marks)
a) Discuss the role of power and authority on the future direction for the chosen country (6 marks)
