I want to go down to 12 units in Year 12 while picking up another Extension so I'd probably drop a history (probably Ancient). I'm still wondering whether Extension 2 English or Extension History would be more preferable but I'll worry about it next year when I see how I am going in each subject, as I have been advised by my teachers.

hist ext is da bomb!!!!! i do both eng ext 2 and hist ext, and hist ext is so much more interesting. but i suppose that really depends on the teacher - i really hate the teacher i have for ext eng 2 coz shes frickin scary but my teacher for hist ext is waaay cool - so maybe if u know who is gonna teach those subjects that might help you decide. ive also found with hist ext it appears to be a good thing if u do both ancient and modern - im only doing ancient for my hsc and some of the stuff we do in class for hist ext is a little confusing because i dont have that background knowledge from the modern course and people who dont do ancient but also do hist ext have told me sismilar things.
but really it all comes down to what ur interested in - coz if ur interested in that subject u generally do better in it - good luck!!!

Stupid Catholic School. I'd drop SOR for Maths Extension.

Still don't know what to do for back-up and selection's due tomorrow; Geography, Ancient History or Italian Beginners? Parents are telling me to drop Legal for HSC. Bleh.

Don't be forced to drop a subject based on your parent's opinions. It's up to you to decide.

I've still got a couple of weeks to decide but I'm thinking

2U Advanced English
1U Extension English
2U Mathematics
1U Ext Mathematics
2U French Continuers
2U Chemistry OR Biology
2U Japanese Beginners

I wonder if it'll be confusing for me to do two languages at a time though. Has anyone round here done Jap beginners? Easy? I really like languages, so I think I'll like it, I just have to round up enough people for a class or contemplate learning it by correspondence.

japanese is heaps different, i doubt you will get the two languages confused. ;)

if you love languages, then you should definitely go for it, because your interest is there, which is the most important thing! :)
