How much maths needed for stats?

Edit: Exactly what is statistics and how is it related to maths? :D

Statistics encompasses both the pure side of maths (e.g. probability theory) and the applied side of maths. Calculus and linear algebra are definitely essential in statistics.

agreed with Trebla

measure theory (3rd yr stuff) would also help, but not essential as far as undergrad stats is concerned

would 3unit maths be enough not to be disadvantaged?
3 unit should be enough, although you may want to (and probably should) grab a 4 unit textbook and learn the integration bit (esp. integration by parts).

Things like complex numbers in 4 unit aren't required as stats is (mostly) about real numbers.
