Hey everyone, I currently attend Marist College Eastwood (Year 10) and am contemplating changing schools at the end of the year.

One school that I am looking at is Aloys . If anyone knows much/attends the school could you please tell me how you find it there, what teachers are like, etc. Also info on what my year group is like would be much appreciated.

St Aloysius:

- 6 all rounders in the HSC
- 2/3 of students in top three bands
- 40% of students = 90 uai +

I'm assuming the students must be smart.
A good learning environment I suppose

Who are you Keeps16? Seeing as you got all band 6's in the SC you can only be 1 of 3 people...

I only know the one guy from Aloys but it seems guys from the graduating 09 class are pretty tight. The school as a whole is pretty good. The students perform pretty well so I'm guessing the teachers are decent. They seem to be ranked in the top 50 schools which is another good sign. One thing that I was particularly impressed about was that they try and finish their hsc courses nice and quickly, say a week or two after trials and then they have this intensive review course where they get past HSC markers to give lectures and hand out some notes. I only saw the chem ones. It covered all the practicals (pretty much through the photocopy of some books) and a basic summary of the whole HSC course. If you can afford it, Aloys seem like a good option.

St aloysius is a great school, i know a lot of people there.. but unfortunately not everyone is hard working.
you have that group of people in every year, in every school (yes even in james ruse its possible some people get 50's for hsc)
so its really your own individual learning..

i know someone who goes to marist college eastwood, and he says its really bad compared to his old school - marist college north shore..
and saying that, aloysius is ranked better than both marist college north shore and marist college eastwood.

so.. basically, i reckon st aloysius is great academically - but its your own individual learning.
