for a 4 minute speech- about how many words should be in it?

speaking at a normal, not fast, not slow pace. about 1000 words?

1000 words in 4 minutes is about 4 words a second, which sounds like an average speed to me.

give yourself about 30 or 40 words a minute. Any faster and you'll be going about as fast as fly being killed at a butchers party
