As most people would know, history speeches are really really boring. I have to do a history speech on the changes in Nazi society and I was wondering if anyone would have any ideas on how I could go through all the relevant sub topics without losing my audience.
Thank you :)

Use visuals such as powerpoint presentations with lots of interesting colours and pictures which will aid you in presenting your speech and consequently, keeping your audience interested. Don't just provide a narrative representation of the changes in Nazi Society - try to be different and indeed analytical, as your audience will get bored if your class is doing the saying the same things in the same way over and over again. Also don't read straight from your paper - speak to your audience !

I find that brief diversions spoken in a different way to the rest of your speech work well in keeping the audience's attention. For instance, an Ancient speech from a while ago: "Blah blah blah Spartacus ... [becomes more casual, makes a brief comical remark about the Kirk Douglas film and how inaccurate it was] ... [back to somewhat more formal] blah blah blah"

Thank you for the advice.
I actually did my speech today and I used a powerpoint and put in some jokes and contrasted people's assumptions of Nazi society to what new historical evidence says about nazi society which I think my teacher liked.
