Relevant social determinants – Mental Illness
Lack of employment and a sense of hopelessness and despair
Changing family structure
Socioeconomic disadvantage leads to stress and poorer financial status
Mental illness may go undetected in young people
Mental illnesses can often remain undetected in Aboriginal communities because it may not be easy for them to access services
Relevant social determinants - Diabetes
• Social acceptance that Australian lifestyle includes alcohol consumption
• Australia’s ageing population
• Impact of technology on work
• Socioeconomically disadvantaged groups are likely to engage in risk taking behaviour
• Work demands and easy availability of fast food
Relevant social determinants – Respiratory disease
• Low socioeconomic status- leads to an increase in risk behaviour, such as smoking and excessive alcohol consumption
• Access to healthy food products
• Males are less likely to access health services
• Media coverage leads to greater awareness of the risk factors of respiratory disease
• People who live in remote rural areas have higher levels of smoking and obesity as a result of reduced access to health services

Hehe. I was stoked when I saw that no one had posted a reply then, especially no Without Wings so I rushed to get it up there. I think I broke into a sweat hehe.But I've got a lot of catching up to do to catch you guys.

plz somebody WITHOUT WINGSSS help me with the social determinants of health at least just definitons of each and there effect
